Welcome to Skippers Class
Welcome to Skippers Class page and to the beginning of the Summer Term. As the weather warms up we will be spending as much time as possible playing and learning outside. We will be planting vegetables and flowers in the garden. Finding out about how we keep fit and healthy through exercise and what we eat. The children have shown a keen interest over the year in dinosaurs and pirates and we hope to develop these ideas through investigating life above and below the sea. Islands and underwater worlds will be created with sea creatures and mermaids too. During the first half of the term we will be joined by Miss Tyrrell and Miss Mitchell first year students from Winchester. The children will be pleased to see them again after there first visit in the Autumn Term. We look forward to an exciting term and look forward to keeping you informed on Tapestry and our class page.
Finkley Down Farm
On Wednesday 4th March children in Skippers and Admirals visited Finkley Down Farm near Andover. We had a really exciting day exploring the farm and handling animals such as chicks, rabbits and mice. After lunch the children used the playground and still had time to visit and feed more of the animals. A great day was had by all!
Skippers Dance Days
Children in Skippers Class worked very hard for two days to develop their dance based on the story, "We're Going on a Bear Hunt". They learnt about how dance can be used to tell a story and how important facial expressions and BIG movements are in explaining the sequence of events. Well done Skippers for all your hard work.
