Welcome to Skippers Class

Welcome back after the Easter break and we hope as the weather improves to make as much use as possible of our outdoor area as well as the school grounds.  This term we start with a trip to Hillier's Gardens as we learn about how plants grow and begin to plant vegetables in our garden.  "Super" will be a theme for the term so we hope to grow some "super sized" flowers and base some of our work around stories, like The Enormous Turnip.  Superheroes are very popular in Skippers so I am sure they will also feature in further adventures as the term progresses.  We look forward to sharing all of this with you both on our class page and through the online Learning Journals.

Welcome to all the new children in Skippers!

Having fun learning outside.

Skippers have fun on a cross country run on the green.

Skippers visit Acorns Pre-School

to meet PC Jo

Skippers were invited to meet PC Jo when she visited Acorns this week.  She talked to the children about how to keep safe especially when playing out and about near their homes  The children learnt about what to do if they got lost as well as how to cross the road safely.  PC Jo let all the children sit in her car.  An offer that no one refused!

Make a Noise about Bullying

This week Skippers have been learning about bullying and what to do about it.  We spent time reading and discussing the story of Tiny the Dinosaur which helped the children to identify who the bullies were in the story and what they should do about it.  We finished the week by icing biscuits to spell out the message MAKE A NOISE ABOUT BULLYING  and showed this to the school at Fridays Celebration Assembly.

Skippers enjoyed listening to a storyteller.
