Emperors' Class Page

Welcome to Emperors' Class page. The children in Emperors are aged 9 – 11 and are in years 5 and 6. The teachers in Emperors are Miss Banks and Mrs Barnes who share responsibility of the class. Miss Banks teaches English and Mrs Barnes teaches Mathematics. We do lots of exciting things in Emperors so make sure you visit the page often to see all of the fantastic things we have been doing.

Welcome back after what has hopefully been a restful and wonderful Easter break. This half term we will be looking at the Ancient Greeks which will closely be linked to our work in English and History. We have lots of exciting lessons planned for the next seven weeks and we are looking forward to getting started. Don't forget that this half term is also very important for the children in Year 6 because they have their end of key stage assessments in the week beginning the 9th May. Therefore it is very important that the children are in school as much as possible to ensure they are ready for their tests.

Also at the end of this half term the children have their trip to Calshot which we are all looking forward to. More information about Calshot will be coming soon.

As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to speak to the class teachers.

House Captains

Today all of the children took part in activities in preparation for the House Captain elections. They looked at party manifestoes and thought about what they wanted to do as a house to improve our school. We considered the appropriate qualities of a House Captain and made our own campaign posters which will be put up around school in the near future. Over the weekend the children need to write their speech or create their own PowerPoint presentation.

Important Dates:

Monday 7th September - Prospective House Captains to submit speeches

Tuesday 15th September - House Captain candidates to present their speeches to their houses
Friday 18th September - House Captain elections

Friday 18th September - House Captains announced in celebration assembly
Friday 25th September - House Captain badges awarded in church!!

Over the weekend the children who have put themselves forward, to be the House Captain, need to prepare their speeches or presentations for Monday 7th September. Presentations can be brought in on a USB stick or sent via email (see Miss Banks)to be saved onto the pupil server where they will then be able to be accessed.

Good luck to all of the candidates involved.
