Our Growing Bodies

Our Growing Bodies

Skippers and Swallowtails talked about what happens to our bodies as we get older, and what things we see grow and change. Mrs Appleby told the children that she must be the oldest as she was the tallest and had the biggest hands. Some of the children didn't agree, so Mrs Appleby told them they had to prove her wrong!

Both classes lined up in height order and we found out the youngest person wasn't the smallest and the oldest person wasn't the tallest. Next they had to prove Mrs Appleby wrong about her hand size, so they drew round each others hands with chalk pens and then measured them with tape measures. Some children even decided to work out if the tallest person had the biggest feet!
