Summer Term 2

In French, we really enjoyed a final lesson with Miss Pratt, where she planned games and activities to help us recap the vocabulary that we have learned with her this half term...all about food! We used a parachute, 'over and under', and 'corners' to practise asking for different food types, then we entered the Emperors Cafe where we got to sample some French cuisine! What a fun day!

Year 6 at Winchester Cathedral

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastically sunny day at their Leavers Service at Winchester Cathedral. Beforehand, we all made flowers from recycled materials (with the help of Nanny) and these were added to a collective piece of art from all schools at the Cathedral today. They found out about the history on a self-guided tour, and made gargoyles from clay. Roxy represented the school by collecting our candle, and Holly and Lillie were our banner-bearers. We were really proud of all of the children.

In Science, we have been investigating forces. Using our knowledge of friction, we investigated which string (or track) was the quickest for balloon racing. We also factored in what we have learned about thrust and drag to design a successful investigation.
