Test Valley Dance Festival
On Thursday, Swallowtails class went to the Dance Festival at Test Valley. The children were split into two groups along with children from Broughton and West Tytherley and spent the morning learning a dance routine based on the theme of storytelling. In the afternoon the children had the opportunity to perform their WW2 dance to the other schools and a panel of judges. Everyone was very impressed by all their hard work and they were even requested to perform at the Test Valley fete! A fantastic day was had by all and the children came away with some highly deserved gold and silver medals.
Bump Up Day
Next year's Swallowtails had a fantastic morning on bump up morning. We played games to learn more about each other, we did some different art activities and thought about what we were looking forward to next year! Have a look at some of the things we did.
This week in maths Swallowtails have been learning about capacity. We have been estimating, reading scales and measuring liquids. Have a look at some of our photos.
On Thursday, Swallowtails spent the morning exploring the nature in our school environment. We did a scavenger hunt to find different items, we did a treasure hunt answering questions and identifying the clues on a map and we had a lot of fun doing a picture hunt, trying to find where the images were in the playground. Have a look at what we did.

Swallowtails and Amazon(s):
On their first day back, Swallowtails were treated to a special geography day as they began to explore their new topic for the Summer Term - the Tropical Rainforest.
After recording some of their own amazing facts and asking some intriguing questions, the children received their boarding passes and flew to the Amazon. They learnt hundreds of facts about the rainforest, ate some rainforest food, took part in some rainforest artwork and even found out about children who live in the rainforest of Columbia.
What a great first day to the term!
