Today the children have taken part in some movement lessons. They thought about how to tell a story using their bodies and different movements and listened to music to help them tell the story.
The first session was using the story 'Penguin Small'. The children had to think about answering the questions - who are you? Where are you? How are you feeling today? They then had to show me the answer to these questions using movement and expressions.
Suddenly the music changed and we introduced a polar bear into the story! The children got to show me how they would answer those questions differently when they were a different character in the story.
In the second lesson the children used a story about their morning routine. They had to tell the story from the minute they woke up to when they went to school showing different movements from going downstairs to brushing their teeth.
