Year R Transition September 2020

Transition Task 5

It's the summer holidays!! Over the next 6 weeks we would love it if you could collect memories of the things you do over the summer. This can be photos, postcards, brochures, leaflets, tickets or anything else you might collect to help you remember what you did over the summer. Keep them all safe together and then we will share these in circle times during the first few weeks in school. This helps us to get to know each other and share the fun things we have been up to.

Have a great summer.

Transition Task 4

Let's be shape detectives! See what shapes you can find in your house, in your garden or out on a walk. Can you find something that is round, square and triangular?

We would love to see some photos of the interesting things you find.

Don't forget to look high and low!

Share these photos with your child to help them familiarise themselves with the school

Transition Task 3

You may have noticed from our school logo that butterflies are very important to us at Lockerley Primary School. Not only do they feature in the school logo but the classes are also named after butterflies and inside the school all the children get to paint a butterfly onto the wall.

For this weeks transition task we would like you to go on a butterfly hunt. You could count them in your garden, out on a walk or see how many you can find in the story books you have at home.

I wonder how many you will find.

Transition Task 2

This week we would like you have a go at the Rainbow challenge. Do you know the colours of the rainbow song? You can have a listen to it here....

https://youtu.be/nRTdq0VsLGQ

Now see if you can find something in your house to match each colour of the rainbow. For example, for red you might find a red piece of lego or a red strawberry. Then for yellow you might find a yellow t-shirt.

Enjoy making rainbows

Transition Task 1

Hello and welcome to the first transition task.
Next week we are going to be reading you some stories.

How many books do you have? Can you find us your favourite story book?

Perhaps you could share the book with someone in your family.

We would love to hear all about your favourite story.
