British Values
We are committed to serving our community and surrounding areas. We recognise the multi-cultural, multi-faith and ever-changing nature of the United Kingdom, and therefore those it serves. We also understand the role we have in ensuring that groups or individuals within school are not subjected to intimidation or radicalisation by those wishing to unduly, or illegally, influence them.
The Government set out its definition of British Values in the 'Prevent Strategy':
- Democracy
- The Rule of Law
- Individual Liberty
- Mutual Respect & Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
SMSC
SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development) is at the heart of school life. Within our curriculum, children are provided regular opportunities to develop confidence, compassion and respect for others. Pupils are supported to reflect on their own beliefs, make thoughtful choices, build positive relationships and appreciate the diversity of the wider world.
