SCHOOL CLOSURE - THURSDAY 1ST MARCH

Lockerley Church of England Primary School will be closed tomorrow (Thursday 1^st March) for the following reasons:

 

1. The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the region on the basis of snow and ice. The forecast assesses the risk as “likely” and predicts that this will have “high impact” results.
2. The vast majority of staff travel some distance to get to/from school on rural routes. The collection of children from our site and the departure of staff during severe weather conditions would create a high degree of risk to safety. We are therefore very concerned about children and staff being able to get home safely if conditions deteriorate, as expected, during the day.
3. We believe that an early and clear decision will enable parents to make necessary plans and reduce risks.

 

We will review for Friday 2^nd March and post an updated notice on the school website.
