Christian Vision

Our Vision is:

A drive for all children to show love in their hearts, courage in their learning and respect for each other

Love

Love is a core value of our Church school because Love is at the very heart of the Christian faith.

The bible explicitly tells us that God is love and that those who live in love, live in God and God lives in them (John 4:6). The bible also includes the instruction to love God and one another. Loving one another means putting others before ourselves whether they think that they deserve it or not – a kind of selfless love.

In school we show love by being kind and caring to each other. We also show love by making use of our gifts to care for the world and create beauty within it. Stories from the bible which are important to us are Creation, Christmas and Easter.

Courage

Courage is a core value for our Church school because Jesus showed courage throughout his life by standing up for what is right and true.

In the book of Joshua, God tells his people to “be strong and courageous, do not be frightened, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”

We show a courageous attitude when we challenge ourselves to be the best that we can, stand up for what we believe and have the courage to say “no”.

Respect

Respect is a core value for our Church school because it is at the heart of Christianity that we are made in the image of God, so each human life is ultimately precious.

In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus says “Treat others as you would want them to treat you” (7:12). Jesus lives this out in the way that he values everyone equally.

We show respect by valuing ourselves, each other, our environment and by valuing our differences.
