Spring 2
Roman Day
Swallowtails class enjoyed embracing our History Topic by taking part in Roman Day. We designed our own shields and took part in army formations, learnt Roman Numerals and tried some food that Ancient Romans would have eaten. In the afternoon, we took part in an archaeological dig, sketched artefacts, and tried sewing in preparation to design our own army epaulettes. What a fun and busy day!
Roman History Box
We enjoyed exploring our Roman History Box, which focused on soldiers. We found out about how they fought, and their other responsibilities, including building the famous Roman roads. Some of us enjoyed dressing as soldiers, and we all learnt lots from the range of Roman artefacts.
