Summer 1

Following SATs the children in Year 6 were rewarded with a 'field day'. They were able to make dens for themselves (although luxurious dens with tents, bean bags and cuddly toys). They entertained themselves playing games and just enjoying being with each other. Well done to all of you for being so positive throughout the testing.

Emperors were really fortunate to have a visit arranged to Bentley Wood. The children experienced pond dipping and den building. They managed to find and identify numerous species including newts, waterboatman, nymphs, leeches and tadpoles. For the den building the children were tasked with constructing a den for Eco-Ted, which was sturdy, decorative and waterproof all from natural products - we had some great designs.

As part of our preparation for SATs, Year 6 played a word sort game outside, they were identifying different types of word groups.

Emperors enjoyed a school trip to Winchester Science Museum as part of our learning about Space and Gravity. We took part in a workshop about light and also enjoyed the Planetarium, discovering more about Outer Space.
