Vicar James came in to school to talk to us about Advent. We learned about the meaning behind the candles in the Advent Wreath, and thought about the different versions of the Nativity story. He told us about how the church prepares for the birth of Jesus, and we shared about how we prepare for Christmas at home. 

As part of our RE learning about advent, we talked about the Christian Christmas story. We learned about the key people in the story, and went on a detective hunt around school to find them. Mary was in the office getting information, Joseph was praying, Jesus was in our classroom, the shepherds were high in the hills of the library, and the Magi were with the wise Emperors!

We visited Swallowtails to join them for a camp fire. We roasted marshmallows and used all our senses to inspire our poem writing. We then performed our Bonfire night poems to Swallowtails.
