Spring 2

We went on a local walk and considered Ordnance Survey maps and how they can help us locate areas of interest, We will be suing these new skills to draw up our own map with appropriate keys to show our local area.

As part of our class worship, the children used The Spiritual Garden to think about Palm Sunday. We thought about how Jesus and the crowds may have felt at that time, using Conscience alley to draw out ideas.

To conclude the children's learning of sound for Science Week, the children designed inclusive musical instruments for the playground, specifically made for younger children. Thankfully Skippers and Admirals volunteered to help try them out children

We joined an online Author visit with Alex Atkinson, author of Spooksmiths Investigate The Cinderman. The children were asked to make decisions over what they would do in different scenarios- What would they take with them? How would they behave? The children were able to vote on the type of animal sidekick in the next book. They were sldo able to ask her questions, related to the books, writing and her inspirations.

To conclude our learning of coordinates using all 4 quadrants, Emperors class played Battleships!

Emperors class continued their longitudinal science project 'Do we grow at a steady rate throughout the year?'

Emperors class hosted a French Cafe for Skippers Class, providing a French menu alongside some French cuisine. All children thoroughly enjoyed it - thank you Mrs Walker for organising!
