Spring 2
We had lots of fun learning about science with Professor Kaos. We had a go at using magnets and moving them across the table. We drew pictures on filter paper using black or brown, and learned about how we can see different colours when it is wet as the ink ran. Then we got our own glasses which mean we can see rainbows!
To celebrate Science Week, we all had a go at planting some cress seeds. We filled the plant pot, sprinkled the seeds and then gave them some water. We can't wait to watch them grow.
We had to be brilliant listeners in PSHE. Our friends had to describe an item they were holding and we had the challenge of choosing the same one. We found it tricky but really enjoyed getting them right!
We did yoga in P.E. It was deep sea yoga which included poses inspired by different animals we would find in the sea. We then got to make our own pose of an animal which lives in the sea.
We enjoyed world book day this week. We spent the morning taking part in lots of different activities including story dice and retelling traditional tales. We then got to show our costumes to our friends and finish the afternoon by doing a book hunt. We had the challenge of matching our characters to their book covers which were hidden around the garden.
We started our PSHE this week by thinking about how important it is not to leave people out. We then had the challenge of dancing around but when the music stopped we had to find a partner. Each time these groups got bigger until the whole class was holding hands. We then thought about all the ways we could include people in the classroom.
We had a brilliant start to our new topic of 'Amazing Animals' by discussing all of the different animals we might learn about. We then took this knowledge into discovery time by creating our own animal café complete with a menu and a bug hotel. We even did some writing of the materials we might need to build our creations.
