Murphy's Visit
So today, there were lots of desks and chairs in the Emperors' classroom. Something was going on. Something called SATS. I had no idea what this meant, so Mum led me back to the library area and we settled there amongst all the books. Some children were practising their dancing in the hall opposite. That looked like great fun, but I'm not very co-ordinated so I just watched and enjoyed the music instead.
First of all I listened to Lord Brocktree, and heard about a short-eared owl called Udara Groundslay who can't fly, then I listened to Awful Auntie by David Walliams, where Stella told us that she survived eating the lurking death plant seeds and her awful aunt wanted to cheat her out of her inheritance.
Next I listened to Street Child by Berlie Doherty and heard about Jim who really wanted to be best friends with a boy called Shrimp but has to go and work for Grimy Nick.
Last today was Time Travelling With a Hamster. The hamster was called Alan Shearer - a much better name than Hammy or Fluffy, I think. Al, the boy in the story, had a special 12th birthday present from his beloved Grandpa Byron. It was a letter from Al's late father - a letter with a mission to travel back in time in a special machine, but you'll have to read it to find out what the mission was!
See you after half term.
