Summer 2

Lepe Beach

We had such a fantastic day at the beach today! Despite the rather sketchy forecast we actually barely got rained on and experienced a true British seaside day. We played on the beach building sandcastles, catching crabs, finding shells and digging big holes. After a picnic lunch under the cafe (to avoid the rain shower that made the Isle of Wight disappear!) we played in the park and then had a delicious ice cream. We finished the day with a lovely walk around the board walk and then visited the sensory garden before heading back to school. The children were impeccably well behaved and it was such a pleasure to watch them exploring the beauty of the beach with nothing more than a bucket and a spade!

Outdoor Learning

We had fun in our last outdoor learning session with Swallowtails class. We worked in our House Teams to move the water from one bucket to the other, while only being allowed to move when we weren't holding the water! We used buckets, pipes and guttering to help us, and we had to move the water through the tyre and under the tarpaulin. This took a lot of team work!

History

Junipers had a great time exploring the mysterious trunk that arrived in the classroom. Some thought it belonged to Professor Klunk and some thought it belonged to a pirate. We have been sketching the items inside and trying to work out what they are, where the trunk came from and who it might belong to.
