  • Inter House Challenge - In the News

Fri 23 May 2014 Amelia East

This afternoon the children were involved with a third inter house challenge. Today the theme was 'In the News'. All of the children were involved with many different activities involving team problem solving, creating headlines, drawing pictures, answering questions, dressing up and drama.

A special thank you goes to the 4 House Captains for helping their team the whole time and to 4 Year 6 judges who worked extremely hard and did a fantastic job keeping score for us.

The pictures tell the story but lots of fun was had by all!!

  • Year 2 Movement Festival

Tue 13 May 2014 Miss Banks
Today all of the Year 2 children went to Test Valley School for a Movement Festival run by some of the children at Test Valley. The children came back to school bursting with energy and excitement. They were involved in activities such as Trampolining, Human Skittles and Kayaking (not in water!). Everyone had a great time and when they returned to school they wrote their own recounts of their very active morning. I'm sure there will be some very tired Year 2's tonight! Take a look at some of the photographs taken from the morning.
  • Year 5 Tag Rugby Tournement

    Thu 01 May 2014

    Tag Rugby Fun!

The majority of the Year 5's set out today to take part in a touch rugby tournament at Andover Rugby and Football club, with high hopes.  Those hopes were not dashed - despite some drizzly weather and a somewhat short experience of touch rugby - the children started off and continued playing with great confidence and positivity.

Throughout the five games played, the team held a great defensive line, made some excellent tags and supported a number of fantastic runs.  All in all we scored 10 tries (scorers: S. Biddlecombe, D. Harnett, J. Somerton, J. Smith, J. Biggs and M. Webb - with nearly all players close to scoring!).

Unfortunately, after some very close games, we went out after the quarter finals of the Bowl Cup.  However, children were unperturbed by any losses, very sporting and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every game (especially the one that we won).
