  • Art Exhibition

Fri 15 Jul 2016 Miss Hynes
Thank you to all the parents who came to the art exhibition and purchased the fabulous art work that the children produced. They all loved being able to see their work framed and on display. Have a look at some of the pictures from this afternoon.
  • Swimming Gala

    Fri 15 Jul 2016

Yesterday a team of swimmers attended the annual swimming Gala at Test Valley. The event was put in jeopardy a number of times as school after school in the cluster pulled out - but us, Kings Somborne and West Tytherley made the event a success.

It was a lovely warm sunny afternoon and the outdoor HEATED pool made for a really great final event of the year. The children from Lockerley did themselves and us proud swimming race after race in quick succession competing in widths and lengths of a variety of strokes from font crawl to breaststroke to backstroke and team relays.

We had a number of first places with our worst position only ever being 3rd! Overall we came 2nd which was a brilliant result especially considering there were 3 events that we didn't enter.

I was very impressed with all the children and the progress that some of the children have made over the 2 years in their swimming has been outstanding.

A splashy well done to Georgina, Callum, Sam, Annabel, Chloe, Alice, Ben K, Ben W, Lucy M, Lucy S, Maisie, Tiffany, Danielle, Sophie and Mark.

The children had a lovely morning session at Lockerley Water Farm for the Life Expo. The children loved using all of the technology avaiable to learn more about what Christians believe. We listened to some catchy songs and watched a few videos. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the morning. Look at our pictures below.

  • Ofsted Report

    Mon 04 Jul 2016

    4th July 2016

    Dear Parents,

re: OFSTED: Lockerley continues to be a good school.

Please find attached to this letter our official Ofsted letter outlining the findings of the recent inspection visit. I’m sure you will agree with me that the report is incredibly positive and will enable us to continue to improve in the coming years.

Firstly, I would like to say how proud I am of all the children in school. Their behavior was recognised by the inspector as ‘impeccable’ – it doesn’t get any better than that. They were a credit to the school on the actual day (and everyday) and this shines through in the letter.

Secondly, a huge thank you to all of you for taking the time to complete the online parental questionnaire. The results of which were fantastic and make me feel very proud that you have such confidence in the Lockerley team to provide such a super education for your children.

Lastly, it goes without saying that I would like to say thank you to all the staff and governors. I am very lucky to be able to work with such a dedicated team of extraordinarily talented people who strive daily to be the best they can be for the children at Lockerley.

If you would like to discuss the report further with us we will be holding a brief feedback session on Monday 11th July at 6pm where I will happily talk about the inspection process and answer any questions you may have about the report.

    Kind regards

    Jamie Dodson

  • Battle of the Somme Centenary

Fri 01 Jul 2016 Miss Banks
Today all of the children took part in a number of activities organised kindly by Mrs Allsopp from Test Valley School. The children researched about soldiers from our local area using websites and copies of census data. At the end of the day we all gathered on Butts Green to listen to prayers from Vicar James and place poppies. Look at some of our photographs from the day below.
