  • Emperor's Amazing Americas Homework

Tue 31 Jan 2017 Miss Banks
Yesterday the children shared with the class the homework they had been working on over the past few weeks at home. I was amazed with the projects that the children brought in and the huge array of ideas including homemade food, posters and even a plywood model of the Empire State Building. Look at the pictures on our class page. All of the children who produced something will be showing it in celebration assembly on Friday morning.

  • KS2 Tremendous Tables

Mon 16 Jan 2017 Mrs Barnes
Well done to everyone who practiced their times tables over the holiday period; there were many successes for us to be proud of. 41 children achieved a personal best, earning themselves 3 house points. 17 children scored 50 or more; each receives a certificate. 15 children scored 75 or more and take home a times table pencil. 7 children scored 110 or more and have earned themselves a calculator rubber. 1 child scored 140 or more and will receive a calculator key-ring. Sam and Matilda in Y6 showed real determination and completed the whole grid correctly in 5 minutes! They will be the first two names to be entered into the ‘Lockerley Headteacher's Tremendous Tables Book’. Amazing! Their next challenge? To complete it in only 4 and a half minutes. Congratulations to everyone. Keep practising!
  • Introduction to Brass

Fri 13 Jan 2017 Miss Hynes
This morning the whole school were treated to a fabulous music concert by a professional musician from the Hampshire Music Service. The children were taught different breathing techniques and how to blow into the instruments. They learnt all about the trombone; the trumpet and the French horn; the parts of the instruments and how they work. The children had a brilliant time guessing film tunes as well as listening to a variety of different songs. Check out the photographs below.
