  • Oratory Cup

Fri 31 Mar 2017 Miss Banks

A huge well done to all of the children that took part today's Oratory Cup. In each class, everyone listened to each others' speech about something they're passionate about. Then the important task of voting took place. From each class there was a winner from each year group and a teacher's choice. These finalists will perform their speech again in front of the whole school on Wednesday 5th April to our three fabulous judges. Who will be crowned the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 champion?

    Finalists as follows:

    Emperors: Oliver, Sophie and Annabel

    Swallowtails: Maddie, Milly and Sebastien

    Admirals: Flora, Roxy and Harry

  • Emperors' Dance Week

Fri 31 Mar 2017 Miss Banks

I am so proud of the amount of effort all of the children in Emperors have put into their dance routine this week. We started the week with only a theme of space. The rest was all down to the children. They decided on the music they wanted, characters they wanted to appear and the dance routines they wanted to include. Their group work was exemplary and I love how they included everyone and listened to everyone's views. I thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone's reactions as some special characters came out of the cupboard.

Take a look on our class page for some photographs and videos.

  • Mother's Day gifts

    Thu 23 Mar 2017
All the children in school had the opportunity this morning to buy a surprise gift for their mum.  Members of St. John's Church kindly supplied gifts for the children to buy for 50p.  The children came into the hall very excitedly and chose something special for their mum. We would like to thank the members for giving up their time to run the shop, wrap the presents and assist with special labels.  The presents have now been taken home and will be kept a secret until Sunday - remember, mum's the word!!

  • Shelfie

Thu 02 Mar 2017 Miss Banks
On World Book Day the children could come into Swallowtails at lunchtime to have a go at a World Book day quiz. This year's quiz was guess the 'Shelfie'. The children had to guess which book shelf belonged to which staff member. The photographs are below - take a look and see if you can guess who they belong to.
  • World Book Day

Thu 02 Mar 2017 Miss Banks
We had a fabulous week last week celebrating everything 'books'. Over half term the children had some special tasks to carry out ready for World Book Day. Task 1 was to take a photograph reading a book in an EXTREME place and Task 2 was to create a potato book character. We have had some fantastic entries and it has been really difficult choosing the winners. Take a look at the photographs below to see what brilliant characters and EXTREME readers we had.
