  • Water Play Afternoon

    Tue 16 Jul 2019

Yesterday the children (and adults) had a wonderful time at the water play afternoon. The school was filled with fun and laughter to celebrate the end of term. The children took part in water challenges and had fun on the water slide and with water pistols.

Thank you to all the staff who made it happen!

  • Watercress line

    Fri 12 Jul 2019
On Wednesday Skippers class went on the Watercress Line. Firstly we got on a beautiful steam train and traveled up the line to hunt for some topiary bushes. Once we had returned to Ropley we had lunch and then made our way to the engine sheds via the very bridge that Harry Potter used at Kings Cross Station. We learnt all about how steam trains work and then did a some train art work. More photos can be found on Skippers Class page.
  • NSPCC Visit

    Fri 12 Jul 2019

The NSPCC visited our school today and delivered their Speak out. Stay safe. assembly to share information with your child about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries.

It was a very worthwhile and empowering session for both pupils and teachers. They spoke to the children and staff about the valuable work they do across the country, and talked about how important it is for everyone in our school community to join them in their ‘fight for every childhood’.

    Talking PANTS with your children

The NSPCC’s work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe – and they have a number of child-friendly materials to help you carry on the conversation afterwards. That includes ‘Talk PANTS’, a simple way for parents to help keep children safe from sexual abuse – without using scary words or even mentioning sex.

The guide uses the rules of PANTS to teach children that their body belongs to them and them alone.

  • Basic Life Support training in Emperors

Tue 09 Jul 2019 Miss Grainger

Today we were lucky enough to receive Basic Life Support Training from Mike and Scarlet. They came in to teach us what to do if someone's heart has stopped. It was an informative, engaging session and we got to practise what we had been taught on the dummies.

We talked about taking 3 steps if someone is unresponsive and not breathing normally.

    1. Call 999 and ask for an ambulance

    2. 30 chest compresions

    3. 2 rescue breaths.

We carefully practised these 3 steps in our training and some of them are shown in the photographs.

Thank you to Mike and Scarlet for coming in to train us and to answer all of our questions!
