  • House Football

    Thu 18 Dec 2014

It was a wet, but warm, Winter's afternoon that saw the house football decided at Lockerley today. Children from years 3-6 were taking part for their house and they performed with fantastic sportsmanship and all displayed a real desire to win.

In the end though there can be only one Champion and this year that title went to Rolle. They won all 3 of their matches and so therefore were worthy winners.

A list of the results are below:

    Rolle 3 - 1 Dalgety

    Nightingale 2 - 2 Aylward

    Rolle 4 - 1 Nightingale

    Dalgety 2 - 0 Aylward

    Rolle 2 - 0 Aylward

    Nightingale 0 - 1 Dalgety

    1st. Rolle 9pts

    2nd. Dalgety 6pts

    3rd = Nightingale/Aylward 1pt

  • Christmas Lunch

    Wed 17 Dec 2014

The hall was incredibly festive at lunchtime today as all the children donned their newly made Christmas hats whilst enjoying their wonderful Christmas meal.

As you can see from the pictures, all the adults were involved in serving the food to the children and a special mention must go out ot Mr Dodson whose individually prepared roast potatoes went down a real treat.

  • Poppies Staff Promise

Wed 17 Dec 2014 Miss Banks
This afternoon after school myself and Sophie and Primrose went to Poppies to paint some pottery. The girls had a great time and we have all painted some Christmas presents which are a secret until the big day of course! Photos will follow shortly after Christmas as we do not want to spoil any surprises. Both Sophie and Primrose had a great time and they were very polite and a joy to take out. Even if Sophie and Primrose got paint everywhere!!

  • Nativity

Mon 15 Dec 2014 Mr Dodson
Wow! What a performance! Year R and Year 1 were spectacular on Monday when they showed off their acting skills on 3 occasions. Once to the whole school and twice to parents. Beautiful singing and plenty of following the star was the order of the show. It was a pleasure to watch the children do so well and a special thank you to Miss Jackson and Mrs Rigby for putting the performance together.

  • Lockerley Christmas Fayre

Fri 05 Dec 2014 Miss Banks

This afternoon saw our school's annual Christmas Fayre at our new time of 3.30pm - 5.30pm. The school hall was full of children, parents, friends and family all the way until the end. We had raffles, a tombola, a delicious winter BBQ, fun and games in Emperors class, face painting, many wonderful stalls and we had a special visit from Father Christmas who joined us in his beautifully decorated grotto. There were many smiling faces as they munched on their hot dogs and burgers as they browsed the stalls. The staff promise table was busy as always and lots of children entered themselves into one of the many prizes that they could win for themselves and their friends. Don't forget you can still buy your staff promise tickets on Monday break time if you missed out as the winners will be drawn during Monday's Collective Worship. On behalf of everyone at Lockerley we would like to say thank you to everyone that attended, supported and helped us put on another fantastic Christmas Fayre. There will be details soon of how much we raised thanks to all of your hard work.

  • 'Once Upon a Time...'

Fri 05 Dec 2014 Miss Banks

Today the children had an action packed day with drama rehearsals in the morning followed by watching their very own show. Three actors from the Hobgoblin Theatre Company visited us in the Village Hall to put on their show with colourful scenery and some interesting props. The show was themed around traditional stories that use 'Once upon a time' and 'Happily ever after'. There were many parts that the children could join in with and we were all very impressed that the children sat for 60 minutes and listened carefully to the cast. Everyone enjoyed the show and there were many laughs from the children and adults too! Take a look at the photographs from the show.

  • Gymnastics

Fri 05 Dec 2014 Miss Banks

Over the past two weeks myself, Mrs Allonby, Miss Day and Miss Hynes have attended an Intermediate Primary course for gymnastics which will enable us to teach a variety of inversions to children during our gymnastic weeks. To pass the course we needed to learn how to support children and how to teach the skills necessary to children of all ages to help them progress in their gymnastic learning. We even had to join in by doing headstands, handstands, forward and backward rolls, cartwheels and vaulting over people! Lets just say we were quite achy on the following days. Make sure you keep an eye out for our next gymnastic weeks so you will be able to see the children applying some of these skills in their performances. See pictures below for proof of our hard work! smiley
