Fri 29 Mar 2019 Miss Lilly

Today Skippers and Admirals had a visit from 'Mill Cottage Farm'. They were able to ask questions and find out about a wide range of farm animals. They went into the animal enclosures to brush and stroke the farm animals. There was also a variety of activities including; sorting which foods had come from which animal, milking a pretend cow, also matching the animal with the correct poo. The children also got to give bottles of milk to the lambs and they made butter and cheese.

  • Lockerley School Community Lunch

    Thu 28 Mar 2019

On Tuesday, we welcomed members of the local community to join us for lunch. Our guests were greeted by the house captains, and taken to the hall where they chatted and shared stories while enjoying roast lunch. As lunch finished our guests joined us on the playground,

playing Frisbee, netball, skittles and colouring with the children and reading stories. It was also delightful to hear the praise for our children’s behaviour and our house captains were excellent ambassadors for our school. ‘’I would love to come again’’ said one of our guests.

  • Football Tournament

    Fri 22 Mar 2019

Well done to the KS2 boys who represented our school on Wednesday at the Football Tournament at Wallop. They played brilliantly and won 3 out of the 6 matches.

We came joint 3rd place but unfortunately on goal difference we ended up in 4th place.

I was incredibly proud of the boys team spirit and sportsmanship.

  • Inter-House Spelling

Mon 11 Mar 2019 Mrs Morgan

On Friday, the whole school took part in an Inter-House Spelling competition. We had a great afternoon with lots of different spelling activities. Each year group had a different task to do to help collect points for their house. I was most impressed with children's determination to complete all of the activities in the time given.

    Here are the results:

    4th - Dalgety - 109 points

    3rd - Nightingale - 122 points

    2nd - Rolle - 161 points

    1st - Aylward - 178 points

  • Netball

Fri 08 Mar 2019 Mrs Morgan
Well done to our fabulous netballers!! On Thursday they played several games at Test Valley in very windy and cold conditions. It was fantastic to see them play so well. They all knew the rules and where exactly they were allowed to go on each position demonstrating a great knowledge of the game. Mrs Appleby was an amazing umpire for us as sometimes that role can be difficult. Although we came 4th, they had a great time and enjoyed putting their skills into play.
  • World Book Day

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mrs Morgan
Wow! What an array of costumes throughout the school. We are all so impressed with the effort that everyone put in to help make our World Book Day fabulous. The children were able to share their stories in the classes, listen to a story read by another adult and take part in lots of World Book Day activities. Take a look at the fantastic costumes below.
  • The Big Spell

Wed 06 Mar 2019 Mrs Morgan
Harriet, Arthur, Tilly and Morgan had a great morning at Stockbridge Primary School today where they took part in a 'Big Spell' competition. They had to play several games to spell words from the Year 5/6 spelling list and even some Year 7 spellings too. The games included hangman, word duel and speed spell. Although the children were split in different teams they all represented the school beautifully and had lots of fun joining in with the games and meeting other children who are going to the same secondary school as them.
  • Chess Evening

Tue 05 Mar 2019 Mrs Morgan
Thank you to everyone who came along to our chess evening last night. It was great to see so many children taking part and beating the adults! Thank you especially to Mr McCann who has volunteered his time throughout the year to teach the children the game leading up to this event. Have a look at the photographs below to see some very focused facial expressions.
