  • Christmas Church Service

Fri 16 Dec 2016 Miss Banks

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us at St John's today for our Christmas church service. It was fantastic to see such a great turn out to watch the children in their service. The best part was that every child was involved in some way, whether it was singing a version of a Christmas carol, sharing their work or taking part in one of the readings. Thank you to Vicar James and all who helped get the church ready for us. We would like to thank the band also who played for us as we sung to the many Christmas hymns.

There are some photographs on our St John's Church page of the service.

Everyone at Lockerley wishes you all a very happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year.

  • Football Afternoon Staff Promise

Fri 16 Dec 2016 Mr Burt

On Tuesday 13th December 10 children braved the rain for a fun packed afternoon of football with Mr Burt. They didn't let the weather dampen their spirits, showcasing their dribbling, passing and shooting skills. During the match we started off with the 5 winners versus their chosen friends which proved to be a very close encounter with the winners team proving to be the eventual winners of the game. We finished off with a penalty shoot-out with Mr Burt in goal...it came down to George versus Hugh in the final 2 with Hugh taking home the bragging rights on this occasion.

A fantastic event with great sportsmanship on show from all - well done to all children and thank you for a great afternoon.

Thu 15 Dec 2016 Mr Dodson
It was an amazing morning for hard school work at Lockerley as 3 children 'from a galaxy far, far away' set off in search of the plans to destroy the Death Star. Everyone will be pleased to know that we achieved our mission and sent the plans off to Princess Leia. The rest, as they say, is history...

  • In The News Inter-House Challenge

Fri 09 Dec 2016 Miss Hynes
On Friday morning the whole of Lockerley school gathered together in the school hall to put their news knowledge to the test. Year group at a time children came up and competed in their house groups answering questions based on current news stories. Meanwhile the rest of their house completed activities including matching headlines, pictures and stories, creating puns, jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, word searches and playing sudoku. All the children worked fantastically in their house groups and the scores were exceptionally close but thanks to Hugh's amazing current news knowledge he earned extra points for Dalgety which sealed the win for them! Well done to all the children for supporting each other and working together so well. It was an extremely enjoyable morning!

Thu 08 Dec 2016 Miss Day

On Thursday 8th December Swallowtails were lucky enough to visit the Theatre Royal in Winchester to watch the brilliant pantomime performance of Cinderella as part of our ‘Lights Camera Action’ topic. The children all very much enjoyed joining in with all the classic panto fun (oh yes they did!) and as always behaviour was superb and they represented the school fantastically!

This evening, Miss Baxter and myself took our Staff Promise winner Hugh for a meal at Pizza Hut in Salisbury. He took along his friend Sam and we all had a great time. A lot of pizza was consumed and ice cream too. Thank you to both of the boys for being a pleasure to take and for being very polite too.
