  • Dare to Believe

Fri 17 Nov 2017 Miss Banks
This afternoon, children from Emperors went to the 'Dare to Believe' Festival at Testwood Secondary School in Totton. The purpose of the event was to introduce children to sports that they may not have come across before or played. The majority of the activities were sports played in the Paralympics. The children even got to meet a real life Paralympian, Kate Grey, who was a swimmer. Check out the photographs below of our fun afternoon.
  • Skippers and Admirals Autumn Walk

Fri 03 Nov 2017 Miss Hynes
Today Skippers and Admirals went on an autumn walk around Lockerley. We splashed through the muddy puddles and collected lots of leaves and acorns. When we got to the end of our walk we stopped and played in the leaves, throwing them in the air and stomping through them. In the afternoon we then did lots of art activities with items we collected.
  • Emperors' Visit to the National Oceanography Centre

Wed 01 Nov 2017 Miss Banks

Today the children visited the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton. The aim of the day was the learn more about climate change, global warming, our impact on the environment and oceans and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprints.

During the morning we visited the aquarium, learning about the marine life in there, as well as, looking around the building to spot ways in which they reduce their carbon footprint. In the afternoon, we worked in teams to think of solutions practically and laterally about ways to reduce our carbon footprint.

Next week the children will use what they learnt to design their own eco-schools in an exciting project which will be judged by the environment team at the NOC.

Check out our photographs from the day on our class page.
