  • Walktober

Thu 20 Oct 2016 Miss Banks

A huge thank you to everyone who met us at the church this morning for our 'Walktober' event. It was great to see so many of you walk to school with us and thank you to all of the adults that walked back with us. When we got back to school we were greeted by a waving and dancing Basil the Bird. The children all received stickers and badges too to show their achievement. Take a look at our pictures below.

  • Collective Worship

Mon 17 Oct 2016 Miss Banks
We had some very special visitors on Monday, from our local community, who assisted Vicar James and some children in retelling a story from the Bible about acceptance. The children loved listening to the story and watching the actors take to the stage. Thank you very much.

  • Area Cross Country

Fri 07 Oct 2016 Mrs Appleby

It was a beautiful autumnal evening at Test Valley School on Wednesday evening for the area cross country event for years 3-6. After a warm welcome from the sports leaders who led some stretches and walked the course with the competitors the event began with the year 3 fun run. Robyn, Sebastien, George and Grace all ran a very solid lap and a half of the course enjoying their first taste of KS 2 competition.

Maddie and Ellie D were next up with Maddie taking an early lead in the year 4 girls race. Both girls ran an amazing steadily paced race with Maddie maintaining and then extending here lead to win by a good distance. Toby and Freddie, who stepped up to represent year 4 boys, followed on with some brilliant team running coming in 3rd and 4th consecutively.

The racing ramped up for the year 5s and 6s with some extremely strong runners from across the cluster schools, outpacing the sport leaders at some points! Sophie and Primrose ran a very strong race for the year 5 girls followed by Aaron and Henry who blew the other year 5 boys off the course with a 1st and 2nd. A huge well done to Grace, Isla, Chloe, Callum, Kier and Oli who ran in very strong fields for the year 6s against some outstanding competition.

As a team we missed out on first place by a gutting 1 point but we absolutely deserved 2nd place and the team have come away from the first event of the year proud of what they have achieved. A superb effort from all the runners – really great running from everyone.

  • Murphy's Visit

    Tue 04 Oct 2016 Murphy

    Hi there

So today I was with Admirals and I sat on the rug near D for Dog.  That's me! First I listened to Stuck in the Mud, an alien Adventure where Cat and Tiger get stuck in a pool of mud - yuk!  Do they get out?  You'll have to read it to find out!

Next I listened to Supertato, where there was a crash!  Something had escaped from the supermarket freezer and had drawn on broccoli's face. Who could it be?  All the vegetables were very distressed and upset.  Oh dear!  I wonder how Supertato helped them?

Lastly today, I listened to Land of the Dinosaurs, where there was a baby dinosaur hatching.  Wow!  I didn't know they came out of eggs! I had to have a little lie down to think about that.

Then I went into Skippers class because they'd been learning about how animals help with jobs, and the children asked me lots of questions, like what was my favourite food.  Cheese and tuna!  I tried to say, but I'm not very good at talking yet, so it just came out as Woof, huf!  Luckily Mum knew what I meant!  I had a lovely time, with lots of tummy tickles.  I love school!

    love Murphy
