  • Emperors' Dance Performance

Tue 29 Sep 2015 Miss Banks
This afternoon all of the children in Emperors took part in our musical dance performance. Following our current topic focus of Victorians we performed to 'Consider Yourself' from Oliver! Not only did the children dance but they sang and added an element of gymnastics in too! A superb effort. You can look at some photographs on our class page and hopefully they'll be a video to follow shortly.

  • Year 6 Collective Worship

    Fri 25 Sep 2015 Ben.K and Ben.W

Today, the Year 6's participated in a Collective Worship reflecting on Autumn changes, narrated by Sophie. R. The Year 6's performed to an outstanding standard for all the other classes. During the assembly, they read poems about the changes in Autumn, shared their Autumn artwork and acted out a fishy story. Well done Year 6's. frown

Take a look at our photos below.

  • Murphy's Visit

    Sun 20 Sep 2015 Murphy
    Hi there

I was with Emperors again today -  I'm beginning to feel quite royal!

I heard a very exciting book in the Beast Quest series.  It was all about a ghost panther who's got three tails and he lassos his victims with them, turning good people bad.  Hope that never happens at school!

Then I heard another Wimpy Kid book.  They're always such fun because they're written just like a diary, with funny cartoon pictures and speech bubbles to keep them interesting.

After that, hundreds of children came to pat me and say hello.  Well, OK, not exactly hundreds, but lots and lots and lots!  Luckily there's lots of me to share out!

  • House Captain Elections

Fri 18 Sep 2015 Miss Banks

An absolutely fantastic effort today by everyone involved in helping the children make their votes for their House Captains. The children had a great time deciding who to vote for as well as voting in the hall throughout the morning.

All of the children that put themselves forward for house captain did a wonderful job at preparing their speeches and presenting themselves very professionally in front of the other classes.

A special congratulations to the winners, who have also shown some of our values already. Many were very supportive towards the children that were not voted in this year.

  • Murphy's Visit

    Fri 11 Sep 2015 Murphy
    Hi
It was so good to go back to school today!  Everyone looked really smart in their uniforms, and I wore my yellow jacket uniform too, which I always wear when I'm at work.

I went to my new classroom called Emperors.  Funny though, there weren't any emperors to be seen - just lots of happy children!  First I heard a Horrid Henry story, the one about Henry and Perfect Peter's car journey to vomiting Vera's christening - so gross, you've got to read it!

Then I heard two Wimpy Kid stories - Hard Luck and Rodrick Rules.  I love school stories!  Can't wait for next week!  Wonder what I'll hear then?

  • Emperors' Victorian School Day

Wed 09 Sep 2015 Miss Banks

Today the children had a surprise when the came into school. They would not be having a normal school day! As they entered the classroom, in separate boys and girls lines, they sat at their desks ready to start a Victorian school day. We were lucky enough to hire a box from the Hampshire Wardorbe which meant the children could dress up in authentic Victorian clothes. Mr Dodson enjoyed the Headmaster outfit he was given too!

The children had a history filled day, with handwriting lessons, sewing, arithmetic and even some Victorian playground games. All of the children were very positive about their experience at the end of the day which will support them in their topic learning this half term. The photos will be on the class page shortly.
